Borislav Višnjić
Senior Journalist and Editor, Newsmax Balkans
Borislav Višnjić began working in journalism while still a student. A few months after graduating, despite holding a degree in political science, journalism became his everyday routine and, before long, something far more than a profession.
At the Montenegrin news agency Mina, where he started his media career, he discovered that journalism is a way of life. Journalists are, or at least ought to be, the ones searching for solutions to the numerous issues that surround us once we leave the newsroom.
Throughout his career he has worked as an editor at a public broadcaster, a private television station, and a number of regional and European online publications, but he has always preferred being “just” a journalist. Not because it carries less responsibility, but because it offers the chance to continuously challenge both himself and the people who make most of the decisions in our lives.
As time went on, he came to understand that reporting on the most significant domestic and international events is not as important as revealing what lies behind the news. It is for this reason that he believes the most crucial journalistic task is to find and tell that deeper story.
